How to print with Secure Print feature enabled?

We recently enabled the secure print function on the following printer (1255 Bay – Public Printer 1 (Sales side)) at 1255 Bay Street office location because user in the office would like to make sure to get the print job at the printer (e.g. confidential document).

Here is what is Secure Print and how to send Secure Print job.

What is Secure Print

Secure Print allows you to control the print timing of your documents. Enter a pass code to send a job to print. The printer holds the job until you enter the same pass code at the device, releasing it to print.

How to send Secure Print job

  1. Print the document the way you normally would

  1. Invent a numeric passcode that you would like to print the document with; you will need to remember this passcode when you wish to retrieve your document from the printer. Type the passcode into both the "Passcode" and "Confirm Passcode" fields. When finished, select the "OK" button.

  1. Go to the printer and press the button labelled "Job Status"

  1. Press Secure Print Jobs to display all currently waiting Secure Jobs.

  1. Select your secure job from the list

  1. Type the passcode you entered earlier for this job

  1. Press the "Enter" button to enter the passcode.

  1. If the correct passcode was entered, Select the job you want to release

  1. Press Release from the drop down menu which will then print that job

  1. The printer will then release the print job

If you have any question about sending print job to that printer, please submit a ticket to ILAC IT Helpdesk. Our team member will assist you.
